Adsl faceplate splitter     ADSL Master Socket Filter V10

You probably heard this a hundred times,
how to improve your ADSL broadband
but please read on and we will explain fully what an

  • ADSL master socket filter is,
  • how it  works,
  • and how it is fitted.
  • Plus our discounted offer

Whats is the ADSL master socket filter

ADSL Face plate and NTE5e Master socketThis filter when fitted to the NTE master socket (picture right) as a replacement for the small removable face plate, splits the
ADSL (broadband line) and the analog (speech line) at source, the same as a micro filter works when fitted to a socket.
This provides a separate ADSL and analog supply at the first socket (the NTE) only.
Once fitted there will be no ADSL supply to any other socket in the property.

 How It Works

Most adsl problems (slow speed) are caused by the often poor quality of the property wiring and sockets, even with brand new properties and cabling the fact is that the ADSL supply has to travel to all sockets throughout the property, causing problems and degrading as it passes through the phone circuit. If you remove all the potential problems that old and new wiring , sockets, micro filters, cable and cable connections can cause, then you will have a much more stable and faster ADSL connection at the source (NTE). This is exactly what this ADSL splitter filter does. See the NTE5 ADSL Splitter Explained PDF file  Built inside the splitter is also ADSL enhancing equipment that stabilizes and boosts the connection.

Fitting the NTE/ADSL Splitter Filter

To Fit the ADSL filter remove the 2 securing screws on the NTE face plate and carefully pull away from the main plate.
Make a note of any colour coded wires in the IDC terminals marked 2, 3 and 5.
Remove these wires and remove the old faceplate.
Place the correct wires that were located in 2,3 and 5 on the old face plate into the corresponding numbers on the new filter (IDC tool recommended) secure cable with cable tie to the filter.
Locate the  male plug on the filter into the female test socket on the main plate and gently push until fully home, secure with the 2 longer screws.
Test with a phone and connect the modem / router.

Questions?

rear of the NTE/ADSL splitter filterIf you have understood this  :-) you would then ask what if i need a broadband connection in another room other than where my NTE’s located.
On the rear of the ADSL splitter face plate is a blue row off 6 IDC connections (pictured left), the numbered terminals 2 3 4 5 are for connecting the original property wiring that was in the now removed NTE front face plate which would supply all the property telephone sockets . And the A B terminals are for connection of a cable (cat5 /6 preferred) that would supply a dedicated ADSL socket in an alternative room more than 5 meters away from the NTE, under 5 mtrs you would simply use a pre-made adsl extension lead.

Do i still need micro filters in all other sockets?
No as the ADSL supply is now only at the ADSL NTE Filter and not at any other socket.

Can I test if all this would work before buying and fitting the NTE/ADSL Splitter?
Yes…. firstly do these tests online and record the outcome visit this link and test your speed
Then visit this link and do a ping test  Now this might be a pain but remove the NTE face plate and plug a micro filter in to the test socket of the NTE, now connect your router directly in to the micro filter do not be tempted to use a long extension lead as this will give you a false reading. Now do the same tests again and see the difference, we are very confident there will be, we do this work day in and day out and 95% of the time there is an increase in speed and quality of the ADSL line as much as 6 Mb/sec has been reported. PS  a ping test will show the quality of your ADSL line.
